About the Show

A tropical adventure built on a strong foundation.

Summer vacation has arrived on Sunny Way Cay, where the Aqua Aces are searching for adventure and the troublemaking Koa Crew has too much time on its hands.

A trip to Prism Point leads the Aqua Aces to a time capsule buried in the sand. When the Koa Crew discovers the secret, the two groups turn its contents into a clubhouse-building competition.

The rival crews follow the same blueprint in very different ways. Through the competition, lessons are learned, secrets are revealed, friendships are forged and hearts are drawn closer to God and one another.

“...the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” — Matthew 7:24–27

An Easy-To-Perform Musical For Kids

Summer is here! It's the end of another school year on a tropical island where two groups of kids are looking for adventure during their summer vacation...but not with each other! The Koa Crew is always starting trouble, and the Aqua Aces want to find some fun. Their paths converge on a secret sandy beach where they discover a time capsule buried near a rock. Little do they know, what's inside will change their plans, paths, and hearts, drawing them closer to God and each other.

Matthew 7:24-27 — "...And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock..."

Grades K-5 (ages 5-11)

Full Synopsis

On the lush, tropical island of Sunny Way Cay, summer vacation has arrived. School is out, and days are long, but the kids can't think of anything to do even though mountains, sand, and sea surround them. One group of friends, the Aqua Aces, love the outdoors and everything the island has to offer, most of all the beach. But the friends can't decide what to do with all their free time and some think there is absolutely nothing to do.

Auggie is the leader of the Aqua Aces. He is positive, kind-hearted, and smart as a whip. His friends, Mary and Savannah share his great attitude, while Franky, along with his right-hand man Deklan, question everything and lean toward the negative side. The Aqua Aces are indecisive about what to do, where to go, or how to enjoy their summer. Because they don't have a clubhouse and nowhere to hang out, they decide to head to the beach where the sun is bright and the swells are perfect. Auggie wants to stop by the local surf shop to pick up his surfboard so he can spend the day riding the waves.

Meanwhile, the kids from the Koa Crew are always making trouble and now have way too much time on their hands. A few days into summer break, they are caught spray painting the school's baseball stands with purple paint, their signature color. Principal Nako assigns the Koas Saturday morning detention so they can clean up their mess. His signature "teachable moment" task is that each member must choose a Fruit Of The Spirit and write why they picked it and how they can have more of it in their lives. Principal Nako is always quoting Galatians 5:22-23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness temperance: against such there is no law." He even has a theme song for the school called "Take Root! Bear Fruit!"

The Koa's clubhouse is falling apart, but they are too lazy to fix it. They always look for the easy way out and any opportunity to cause mischief. And this summer break is no exception.

The local surf shop owners and childhood friends, Sully and Slater, have lived on Sunny Way Cay their whole lives. They own the Crystal Beach Surf shop and are known for being the best surfboard repairmen on the island, and for their kindness. When Auggie and the Aqua Aces stop by the surf shop, Sully skillfully suggests the kids explore the north end of the beach, Prism Point, where, unbeknownst to the children, there is a treasure hiding in the sand. The Aqua Aces take the bait and when they arrive at Prism Point, find the clue and dig up a time capsule! Right then, the Koa Crew, who don't follow rules, have no boundaries, and no problem trespassing on someone else's property, notice the Aqua Aces and spy on them. The Koa Crew see the time capsule and want it for themselves. This stand-off leads to the Aqua Aces and Koa Crew using the time capsule's contents to have a clubhouse building competition right there at Prism Point — best team gets the time capsule. They ask surf shop owners, Sully and Slater to be the judges, and the build-off begins!

Both groups pick their spots to build and have the blueprint to follow, which was found in the time capsule. However the Aqua Aces and the Koa Crew take two completely different approaches, and the results will be significant. Through it all, lessons will be learned, secrets revealed, friendships forged, and hearts changed forever.
